The Role

We are seeking an experienced Client-Side Quantity Surveyor to join our Wanaka office. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role with Director support, suited to someone who enjoys ownership, responsibility, and working closely with clients and consultants.

This role is ideal for a senior QS who not only excels technically, but also has the ambition to lead and grow a branch team as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering full QS services across high-end residential and commercial projects, including:

  • Elemental cost planning and cost estimates

  • Preparation of Schedules of Quantities (SOQs)

  • Builder tender documentation, tender management, and tender analysis

  • Procurement advice and value engineering

  • Contract administration

  • Progress claims assessment

  • Variations assessment and negotiation

  • Financial reporting to clients and funders

  • Final accounts

  • Bank and lender reporting where required

You will run projects end-to-end, with strategic and technical support from the Director, and will play a key role in maintaining Structured Construction Management’s standard of clear, accurate, and professional reporting.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Direct engagement with homeowners, developers, architects, builders, consultants, and lenders

  • Attendance at meetings and site visits as required

  • Preparation of high-quality written reports and cost advice

  • Clear, solutions-focused communication at all times

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ NZ client-side Quantity Surveying experience

  • Strong experience in high-end residential projects

  • Proven ability to run projects independently

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset

  • Ambition to grow into a leadership role as the business expands

Qualifications & Skills

  • Recognised Quantity Surveying qualification

  • Member of NZIQS (essential)

  • Proficient in CostX or Cubit

  • Strong capability across Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Sound knowledge of NZ construction contracts and procurement methods

Location & Working Arrangement

  • Based in our Wanaka office

  • Site visits as required

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
